Sam's Medical Fund

As many of you know, Sam was very seriously injured a few weeks ago.  He was involved in a minor accident on I-95 near Hobe Sound and, when he got out of his car to make sure the other driver was ok, he was blind-sided by another driver at full speed.  He has serious spinal injuries, bruised lungs, countless broken bones, and possible brain injuries. Suffice to say, we are lucky Sam is alive.  Now he begins the long, painful process of recovering.  And he needs your help!

We started this GoFundMe page to help alleviate the expenses related to Sam’s recovery process.  Sam’s insurance is not exactly the gold standard, so we are trying to fundraise to cover the portion of his medical bills and supplies that will not be covered by his insurance.

More than that, Sam is lucky to have wonderful family and friends to support him, but the seriousness of his injuries means Sam will be in the hospital for a long period of time and we are finding that even the incidental visits to Sam are causing expenses that I simply can’t cover on my own.  The most immediate need is to make sure we have access to a reliable car so I can continue staying with him at the hospital every day and so I can soon get him to his therapy appointments.  (Sam was fixing my car when the accident occurred, so I’ve been bumming rides from people.)  

Everyone who knows Sam understands how loving and caring he is to friends and strangers alike.  He is the first to crack a smile or lift people up when they are feeling down.  He always goes out of his way to lend a hand to anyone in need. Now we have the opportunity to help Sam. He is in tough shape, but he is a fighter and with all of our help, this is a fight he can and will win.
