Help Fund Memorial Marker for Joshua

Donation protected
Today, November 4, 2014, marks one year since Joshua’s death. Those of you who know us know how much we love him and miss him. Our hearts break anew every day he is gone.

Those of you who knew Josh, even if you just met him briefly, know he was special. There was something about him that enabled people to see inside him and to recognize his sweetness, his caring, and his passion for the things he cared about.

We wanted Joshua to be buried nearby us so that we would have a nice, peaceful place to remember him and to be able to go to reflect on his life, his love for others, and our love for him. According to our tradition, we wait one year before placing a headstone to allow the time for his soul – his energy, his essence - to heal and purify before erecting a memorial.

Josh’s last few years and of course, his death, have taken a tremendous emotional and financial toll on us and we find ourselves unable to pay for a headstone for him. He deserves a memorial and a marker that lets the world know who he was and that he was here.

We don’t want anything ostentatious or overly expensive. We’ve picked out a nice but simple stone that will give Joshua the memorial he deserves in a way he would have liked. His name in English and in Hebrew, the dates of his life, and his epitaph will be engraved on the stone. His epitaph will read, “Shine On You Crazy Diamond.”

We would appreciate any help you can offer – as much or as little as you would like to give. We know Joshua would love the idea that the people who knew him will always be connected to his life in such a meaningful and permanent way.

We – Nathan, Sherry, and Rachel - will be eternally grateful for any help you can give. Please help us, if you can, to honor Joshua in this way.
