Hello,
My name is Radek and I have been suffering with cancer since I was 16 years old. I have had brain cancer twice and each time it makes me feel powerless. The first time this happened my parents had to re mortgage their house to help pay the ongoing costs of travelling and the specialised treatment I needed. My first surgery was a total disaster. I was told after the surgeons opened up my head, that there was nothing they could do. I was then flown to Austria to meet a surgeon who could help. Years later I found out after another scan that the tumour had come back. This time it had filled the cavity in my left part of my head. I have now finished my 3rd brain surgery and I am left with half my face paralised, being deaf in my left ear, two horrendous scars on my head and problem with my vision. During my surgery i suffered problems which left me with nerve problems so i shake and i have trouble moving. I need help with the things we take for granted, like personal hygene, eating, drinking. The worst part is I have applied for help from the government and this is going to take up to 13 weeks. In the mean time i still have a house to keep and bills to pay. It pains me to ask for help as i am a very proud person but i have no where else to turn to. My family have helped me as much as they can now i must ask the public. My suffering with cancer will continue for the rest of my life as i am a sufferer of a condition named VHL. There is no cure. With having 3 surgeries already on my brain, and undergoing treatment for radiotherapy when will it hit me again? who knows. I am a positive individual who would do anything for anybody. Alls i ask is if you can help me. Help me get through this traumatic time by donating whatever you can, and also the additional funds raised i am donating to VHL uk to help find a cure for this disease. It is 1 in 36000 who will suffer with this disease - unfortunatley for me i am one of them.
