<span style="font-size:1.0625rem;">Meet Patrick DeWitt and his beautiful wife Barbara, two selfless people who always put the needs of others before their own. Now imagine riding home from a charity event on a wonderful Sunday afternoon when through no fault of your own, your life is changed forever. Patrick and Barbara were riding their motorcycle when they were hit by a pickup truck on March 1, 2020 killing his loving wife who meant the world to him. Patrick suffered severe injuries himself, he lost his left leg, crushed his right leg and now has limited use of his left arm. The young man who hit them has nothing to sue for and Patrick’s medical bills, cost of living, plus incidentals are more than he can bare. Patrick has been and is a very giving man and is usually not the type to ask for help but now he is facing difficult times and needs your support. Patrick does have health insurance which covers 80% of the medical bills and right now his medical bills are approximately $750,000 but he still needs more surgeries and to get a prosthetic for his leg. The health insurance company, due to subrogation laws, is taking any money he would receive from the auto insurance to cover their cost. We are working to get him on disability, but this can take a long time to get through the system. Any money raised will go to help pay for utilities, food, medical bills, housing, etc. Once he has fully recovered, he plans to return to work but needs your help getting to that point.
