My name is Sarah Lynch and I am a Korean American Adoptee. I have been fortunate enough to be adopted into one of the most amazing families and I also have been fortunate enough to be adopted through Eastern Social Welfare Society. In 2012, I went to Korea for the first time and during that trip I was lucky enough to visit the adoption agency and see where I lived for the first 6 months of my life. Eastern Social Welfare Society, about 1.5 weeks later, also assisted and traveled with me to the door of my birth family and my social worker Park Yoon-Kyung, was so gracious and kind towards me during such a priceless encounter.
With this being said, I want to give back to E.S.W.S in some form. I have a plan to visit Korea for the second time in April 2014 and I don't want to visit the adoption agency empty handed. The amount of babies being cared for at the institution itself is hard to describe. When I went there, we counted forty babies being cared for by one nurse. This really hurt my heart because babies not only crave attention and love, they need it to grow into a healthy, trusting individual.
I created this event so I could bring some money/offerings to ESWS to help the children. I would present the money personally so there is no middle man involved. I will allow you to message me on my personal Facebook if you would like your money donation to buy practical things for babies such as diapers, baby wipes, toys etc. I would buy these things in Korea before my local trip to ESWS
I really hope that those who read this and those who get involved can understand my heart and my intentions with this event. Whether the money could be used to hire more nurses to take care of the infants or used to help give the infants a more comfortable existence, I want to do my best to try and help.
