Help Matthew Bush Walk

Donation protected

Pictured above(top photo):The most important balance & support component of my prosthetic, it takes the entire load of my weight & allows me to walk& balance properly. As you can see it has completely broken in half, leaving me to rely on the weaker component that is still fully attached yet not rated to take the full distribution of my weight& balance. If the other half of the foot breaks, I will not be able to continue walking. The is no way to repair this damage, the part must be replaced.

This is a very hard thing for me to have to do, but at this point I am left with no other choice. If I am not able to receive donations from I will not be able to continue to walk. Most of you already know that I suffer from a traumatic injury that has resulted in the loss of my left leg below the knee, but that has never stopped me or given me a reason to make any excuses! I have always been very active & am currently extremely hard working, but I have run into some serious financial problems as far as my medical expenses are concerned & the consequences could be dire! I need a new leg to be able to continue walking & my current health insurance will not cover the entire cost, even though it is a clearly a medical necessity for me. For those of you who do not know, prosthetic legs can cost ten of thousands of dollars!! My portion of what I owe amounts to over $5000, after my health insurance, out of pocket, due upon me receiving the prosthetic. My current prosthetic is broke in more ways than I would like to admit. It's only 2 years old & it is completely destroyed from working construction & living an active lifestyle. The irony is that I need to work harder to get more money to be able to pay for the dang thing & what's holding me back from working harder is the problem my prosthetic is giving on a daily basis! Imagine not knowing if you are going to be able to walk tomorrow! Still I will not make excuses & I will not stop. These parts they fitted me with are supposed to be indestructible!! Please read my GofundMe page for more info & if you are feeling generous, please donate, & at the very least share this post! I need your help! Without your help I am going to end up back in a wheelchair, which i haven't done since I was 12 years old! Any more raised passed the goal amount will be put into an account for future prosthetic donations or for children with amputations in need! Thank you for your time. I love you all!

As many of you may already know as a child I sustained several serious injuries due to an electrical accident. I ended up in the ICU for two months straight and the first night that I was there they brought the priest in to read me my last rights because I was so badly injured they did not think I was going to make it through the night. Luckily because I was paired with such an amazing surgeon they were able to save my life, but in order to do that they had to amputate my left leg below the knee, telling me it was unlikely that I would be able to walk again. Over time, with the help of physical therapists and my prosthetist, I was able to get a prosthetic leg and re-learned to walk after spending some time in a wheelchair & a year of in-patient therapy. Since I have learned to walk again I have managed to stay very active throughout my teenage years & my 20's, snowboarding, skateboarding, bmx biking, climbing jumping, running & playing as a kid should. I have never gone back to a wheelchair since & I have intended to.

Currently today I live a very active lifestyle, currently owning my own construction company, riding motorcycles, & hiking the beautiful Ohio valleys in the Summers. I live a very physically demanding lifestyle that does not allow for very much downtime & I would want it no other way, as I could never see myself experiencing life from a wheelchair again. This is a reality that I may be faced with soon if I am NOT able to receive help. Many of you who know me know that I have never been one to ask for much help from others, and that there is no burden or undertaking too big for me to try to handle on my own, but I have come to a point in my life where I am experiencing a burden that is too big for me to handle on my own.

Over the past two years I have been living such an active an intense lifestyle that I have managed to break my prosthetic with my daily activities. Now to give you an idea of what that means, consider the fact that it is constructed out of carbon fiber and deemed to be unbreakable. The past several years of climbing ladders and carrying heavy objects & general hard work have taken it's toll & I have managed to break my foot in half more than once, but I'm still forced to wear it on a daily basis because I have no choice if I want to walk. It is held together by duct tape and hose clamps. The liner that I have to wear on a daily basis is torn in half and has holes in it, causing sores to occur on a weekly to daily basis. This causes me a great deal of pain both physically and mentally. I met with my prosthetist to have a new prosthetic made and found out that it was going to cost me around $5000 after what my insurance will be covering. I have tried every possible scenario to be able to come up with this money and I simply cannot. No matter how hard I work no matter what I do I cannot come up with this money in time before my leg will end up completely destroyed and I will not be able to walk anymore.

I have never been one to ask for help from others but I call upon you now for your generosity & donations. without your help I am going to end up living a life confined to a wheelchair or crutches. A life of a immobility.  A life of disability.  With your help I can continue to walk and live a normal life, which I feel is the right of every human being. My medical costs are just too out of control for me to handle and I have no other choice but to ask for donations. So please if you can donate, NO donation is too small to help. If you can't donate at least help to share this donation page with your friends, family, coworkers. I need all the help that I can get. Without you guys I have no way of doing this. Thank you so much for your time. I will make sure to keep you all updated.
