Help Chris Care for His Mom Lori

Donation protected
On  August 5th my Mother, Lori, suffered from a stroke and has been in ICU since. That night, she was rushed to the hospital and they discovered she had a brain bleed. She had to undergo emergency surgery to drain the fluids and relieve pressure in her brain. I borrowed some money to catch the first flight out from Denver to be with her and was able to see her after her surgery. The doctors originally had no idea what could have caused the bleed, because a bleed that bad typically happens to people who have had severe brain trauma, which my Mom didn't have. After about a week and a half, some of the bleed had drained and the swelling of the brain had ceased so they were able to perform an MRI  to get a better look at the problem. She was diagnosed with Arteriovenous Fistula, which is very rare and only happens to about 200,000 people a year- it is even rarer to happen in the brain area. Her doctors have tried 2 less evasive procedures to fix the problem in the brain, but were unsuccessful. She is having the more evasive Neuro Surgery to target the problem. After the Neuro Surgery, she will also need a Tracheotomy because she hasn't been breathing well on her own, and the doctors think the part of her brain that is affected has something to do with breathing.

I have pretty much exhausted any savings I had since I've been here in Los Angeles, and I'm hoping to get some funds together to help cover some expenses back in Denver. As you may know, in the restaurant service industry, I have no sick days, vacation time, and don't get paid if I don't work.  Unfortunately, at this time, we still don't know the full extent of the damage to mom's brain or the extent of rehab she'll need after all this, I'm hoping to stay here with her and help her heal for as long as I can or as long as she needs me to.

Thanks for taking your time to read this. Its hard for me to put this all down at once, especially since i haven't really gone public on Facebook or Instagram, and it's difficult to talk about since we do not know how long her recovery will be. I appreciate you taking the time to read through this. It's been a really rough time for me and my family. All prayers, thoughts, and good vibes are felt and appreciated.   I will also update as updates come!

Thanks again.
