Asperger's Help 4 Little James

"Moses' arms soon became so tired he could no longer hold them up. So Aaron and Hur found a stone for him to sit on. Then they stood on each side of Moses, holding up his hands. So his hands held steady until sunset." - Exodus 17:12

I love this area of scripture. A reminder of how we can come alongside each other, help in times of trial, and steady those hands that have become weak. 

Seven years ago we embarked on a journey called parenthood, experiencing many joys and trials along the way. Last year the neurologist shared that our oldest son, James Ethan, 7, has Asperger's Syndrome. It gave clarity to confusion and we started on a path for help. 

As we prayed, sought counsel, and moved forward we found Brain Balance Achievement Centers, a place offering a drug-free approach to those who struggle with  Autism (Asperger’s is now included under this umbrella). 

We researched it, and viewed many testimonials of people with similar life stories to ours. As we watched, cried, and prayed, we felt God leading us in that direction. An answer to prayer and exactly what we were looking for!

Brain Balance has a six month program costing $14,000 where insurance unfortunately is not accepted. Each week they will re-train James’ brain in the many areas that are not functioning the way they were designed to. From vision, to hearing, processing to speech – these are just a few of the many areas James' brain never fully developed when he was a baby.

This program will be life-changing.

Asperger’s affects all areas of James Ethan’s life. My son so badly wants help and knows there is something not quite right in his brain. A conversation we openly have with him pretty regularly. His brain is unbalanced. His right side of the brain is weak causing the left side to overwork and over stimulate.

Meltdowns are a constant and struggles are a regular. As he gets older, it gets so much tougher to manage the trials he is facing. We know God has something great in store for James as he has such a love for people and God. His heart is genuine and he loves to bless others.

Unfortunately his struggles sometimes seem to overshadow the gifts and talents God has put within him.

Three ways we are asking you to join our family and help hold up our arms...

1) Praying for our son , James Ethan

2) Pray for ministry opportunities to be weaved throughout this season and that we would rely on God's strength on those days we get weary.

3) $14,000 is the goal we are hoping to raise. We are praying for God to move supernaturally for the finances needed to enroll James in this intensive therapy that will be life-changing.

Our life with Jesus has been an amazing path and we can't wait to share all the awesome things God does through this experience.
