For eight months, singer/songwriter Lane Baldwin has clawed his way back from death. After dying three times in the hour preceding emergency surgery, Lane had two feet of his colon removed. He then had to suffer through three months of healing before the colon could be reattached. Since then he has narrowly avoided further surgeries on several occasions, and was re-hospitalized due to a tear at the incision site.

Finally, Lane is near the end of his difficult journey. However, the experience has left him seriously in debt, and still with no way to pay his own way until he is cleared by the surgeon to work again. I’m asking you to help me help him get back on his feet so he can continue to work. His new CD is already being called a “masterpiece from a master storyteller” and Lane wants nothing more than to go back to work, promoting the project that has taken him almost three years to bring to market.

OUR GOAL IS $4,000.

What little money Lane had left was quickly spent on medical bills, on top of normal expenses, such as rent and utilities. While the money stopped coming in because Lane couldn’t work, obviously, the bills did not. A previous campaign helped raise about 20% of what he needs to survive until he can go back to work, but we still need to raise $4,000 to help him avoid being homeless on top of everything else.

NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL AND ALL GIFTS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

BACKGROUND:

Lane Baldwin is an internationally-acclaimed singer, songwriter and author. His first CD (released in 2008) has been called the “best Blues in decades.” He worked for three years to put together financing for his second CD, The View From Here. He invested his life savings into making his dream come true.
Unfortunately, just as he was preparing to release the CD, he became seriously ill. Having lived on savings for two years while he completed this new project, Lane and his team had set up several touring opportunities and were more than ready to make the best of this opportunity. Instead, however, Lane was stricken with a life-threatening case of diverticulitis. The disease almost killed him three times when it descended into gangrene, requiring the removal of much of his colon.

WHY I’M ASKING YOU TO HELP:

Lane is one of the kindest, most generous people I have ever met. During his career, he has used his gift of music to help raise millions of dollars for sick children, veterans organizations and to feed those in need. While in Illinois, he created Foodstock, which supported the local food pantry. Since then, it has spawned several chapters around the country. In 2010, he cofounded an organization that raised more than $80,000 for musicians devastated by the Nashville flood. Even now, as he faces one of the most difficult times in his life, he finds the energy and compassion to volunteer at the local food pantry.
Lane has always been a “giver.” Even now he has had an extremely difficult time asking for, and accepting help. That’s why I’m doing this campaign for him. I don’t know of anyone who deserves our help more.

ALL DONATIONS GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Please, do whatever you can to support Lane as he gets back on his feet. Even a few dollars will help Lane get back on his feet. Plus, it will show him that one more person understands and supports his efforts to regain his normal life.

Lane’s new CD is finally available for download on CD Baby : http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/lanebaldwin2

Ordering the CD download (only $9.99 for twelve songs) will certainly help. And if you can spare even a few extra dollars, your contribution will help Lane pay his debts and get back on his feet quickly so that he can go back to work.

On behalf of Lane, thank you VERY much for anything you can do to help. If you prefer to pay through PayPal, or to send a check, please contact me using the CONTACT link below.
