Help Helen Keep Her Hair!

As some of you already know, my partner Helen was recently diagnosed with two types of breast cancer.  She bravely endured surgery in early May which successfully removed all detectable malignancies and we all have moved from the initial shock and fear to optimism about a favorable prognosis.  Helen put on an admirably brave face through this gruesome process but she is feeling real dread at the prospect of losing her hair to chemotherapy over the next 4 months.  She's not particularly vain but she is an extremely private person who puts herself in the public eye nearly every day as a high school teacher and the thought of standing in front of her students sans hair has really brought her down.
  When she mentioned how much she hates the idea of losing her hair,her oncologist suggested that she look into cold cap therapy. Cold cap therapy is a method that minimizes hair loss by bringing the temperature of the hair follicles down to -40 degrees during chemo infusions which lessens the hair follicles' absorption of the medications. Unfortunately, cold cap therapy is not covered by insurance and we will be paying for it out of pocket to the tune of $1100  a month for the next 4 months.
  I would love to be able to ease the stress of all of this for Helen by covering the financial burden of the cold cap rental.  If a good number of our circle of friends and family could pitch in, it would really help.
