"The whole scene was like something fresh out of a movie. It was like the end of the world" - Maelene Alcala (CNN iReporter)

This fund was created as a channel to those who wish to donate and help our brothers and sisters in the Visayas region affected by Typhoon Yolanda, internationally known as Typhoon Haiyan last November 8, 2013. It is considered as a category-5 super typhoon with 275 kph (170 mph) wind gusts and 5-6 metre (15-19 ft) waves and possibly the strongest storm ever to be recorded in history.

Of those, the number living in evacuation centers: 449,416
People in need of food because of the storm: 2.5 million

Recorded deaths: 6,183
Injured: 3,000
Reported missing: 85

Funds collected will be used for but not limited to:

1. Food for the survivors, especially those still unreached by media and other relief operations.

2. Clean drinking water.

3. Medical assistance. To buy much needed first aid supplies and medicines. Support medical team that are on the areas now.

4. Provide the team / volunteers with the resources needed in transition.

Also, we might be personally go to the places affected in a few weeks, so some of the donations will be used there too.
