Hi, My name is Sheri Danielle people around here know me as Dani I am a hairstylist here in Abilene, TX. Most people don't know this but as a hairstylist we only get paid when we are behind the chair. So if we get sick or our kids are sick or we want to take a vacation we either lose money or spend all our time making it up by working long hours! I'm not one that usually asks for money however, I'm in a bind! Those who know me know I'm a very hard worker I'm not a slacker nor am I lazy. I've had some medical issues come up that I truly didn't know how bad they were til my Dr said just how bad it is. Short version is this... In July I was told I had a UTI (urinary tract infection)... I am as luck would have it allergic to all but 4 antibiotics as well as 9 pages of food & other things. Having said that we tried the ones I could take but nothing was working. In August my PCP ordered a KUB (KIDNEY URETER & BLADDER ULTRASOUND) & referred me to a specialist of course the 1st avail appt was Nov 27th. I went to see him he then told me he couldn't do anything because I had to get rid of my kidney stones first! So he referred me to a urologist once again I waited another 6 weeks before I could be seen. Now, during all this time I'm working & I'm not in any pain up to that point. I see that Dr the second week of Jan. He order a ct scan because the KUB made him nervous about my condition! I went that day to get the scan and continued to work every day. 3 day's later my Dr calls me wanting me back in asap this is more serious than he thought. Of course I'm laughing it off with my husband because I'm like I know I have stones I've had them in my right kidney for 10 yrs now. So I go in & he tells me he's sending me to get labs for a kidney function test because he's almost positive my left kidney is dead and right is dying. I'm now a bit freaked out. He also tells me I have fluid build up that needs to be drained so his first order is function testing then I get tubes put in my back to my kidneys for draining and which ever kidney is worse that will be the one he cleans out first.. I'm like ok I can still work so I'm good.... Well no not the case I gave it a try but then after only 2 days of clients with gaps for resting my drainage bags filled with blood. The Dr said I had angered them by continuing to do my kind if work. The next day I had my first stone removal which I'm then told for 2 weeks no lifting, standing for long periods or walking for any extended time because I could cause myself to hemorrhage or bleed internally. So me, Ok thank you Dr I now don't know what to do. In 2 weeks they will do the right and it'll be another 2 weeks again totaling 6 weeks off work! UPDATE: I'll have another surgery in March because right now both of my kidneys are dying. Every 3 to 6 months I'll need a CT Scan to see how they are doing my Dr's goal is to keep me from needing dialysis before I'm 50 yrs old. This is why I'm here asking anyone who will listen and can help me raise the money to pay my medical bills. I'm not asking for a hand out but a hand up. I greatly appreciate anything anyone can do even if it's a $1! I'd also be willing to auction off hair services for when I get better if anyone has other ideas please share them with me! I'm offering 3 free blowouts or a free haircut too be used from April 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018 to everyone who donates because I know times are hard & I want to give back. I love my career this is very hard on me & I've been so blessed that most of my clients are willing to wait for me & this is the hardest thing for me to ask but honesty I don't want my daughter to lose her daycare spot she doesn't adjust to change well and this has been very hard on her, cause mommy hasn't ever been so sick she's 4 and doesn't understand completely!
