Giancarlo studies abroad in Spain!

Before you read anything else, I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my page. Now that I am finally a junior in college (cannot believe how fast time has flown by!), the possibility of going does not seem as far fetched as it has in the past. This past spring semester, I changed my major (for the last time, I promise!) to International Affairs with a concentration in Diplomatic and International Service. I could not be more satisfied with my decision and I'm very fortune to have the amazing advisors at Kennesaw State that led me down that path.
Since this fall semester began, I have been looking into study abroad programs and have found the perfect one! I have decided to study abroad this summer in Madrid, Spain. It has always been a dream of mine. It's a 5 week program from July 3rd to August 8th, operated through Valdosta State University. Students from there, KSU, Georgia State, GCSU, and Georgia Southern are given the opportunity to apply and participate. I will be taking 7 credit hours at Colegio Mayor Padre Poveda Colegio. The courses I will be taking are: a Cross-Cultural Psychology class (that is required for my major), the last Spanish course required in order to finish my minor in Spanish, and a mandatory Introduction to Spanish Culture class. The courses will be taught at Colegio Mayor Padre Poveda.The program's cost is $5100 not including tuition. The package includes round-trip flight, lodging at the colegio, 13 meals weekly, a primary health insurance policy, first week activites (bus tour of Madrid, tapas restaurants, and guided excursion to Toledo), field trip expenses, and on-site travel consultant, a farewell party, and a pass for unlimited travel on the Madrid subway and bus system! It is also strongly suggested that students bring about $1,000 spending money meals, souvenirs, tours, and day trips since we have 3 day weekends to explore other cities in Spain and neighboring countries.
This is an opportunity of a lifetime since I have never traveled to Europe. Words cannot describe how excited I am to be able to learn all about the Spanish culture and immerse myself in it! (Let's hope I don't gain a lisp!) I'm hoping to work on some networing while I'm there to see if I raise my chance in finding an internship to be able to apply what I've learned thus far.
As I am sure you know, studying abroad is very expensive and I will need your financial assistance to help make this educational experience become a reality. So what I am asking is if you all could contribute monetary donations towards my trip. It would mean the world to me to receive ANYTHING and/or ANY amount of donation. I would be forever grateful for your kindness and generosity.
