Help Fran Beat Stage 4 Lung Cancer!

Hello Family and Friends,

I am taking this time to set up a Gofundme account for My beautiful Mother Fran who is only 57 years old. She was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. As many of you know my mom was extremely healthy and always very active. The day after Thanksgiving has been a family tradition in our house to put up Christmas decorations so my mom had been lifting up boxes and carrying them upstairs pretty much all day and then later that night she had noticed some pain and stiffness up on her left shoulder. She took some Tylenol that night thinking she had just pulled a muscle. But the next day she was still in some pain and then she had noticed a lump on the left side of her neck where her lymph nodes are at. The following Monday she called the doctor and made an appointment to get it looked at but the doctor didn’t have anything available until January 20, 2016. So my mom went on with her normal activities that she has always done. On the weekend of January 9, 2016 my mom wasn’t feeling well and she was coming down with a very bad cold and she just felt really bloated. On Monday January 11, 2016 she still wasn’t feeling well so she decided to take a sick day and called the doctor office to make an appointment for that day so she could get some antibiotics. That whole week she just wasn’t herself and not feeling good. On Friday she started having shortness of breath. On Saturday January 16, 2016 my mom still was not feeling well and just could not breath so she decided to go to the Urgent Care Center and that is when she called me and said they are rushing her to the ER at DePaul Hospital. I asked what was going on and she told me that they did some x-rays and they had found some fluid around her lungs and in her stomach. So she was admitted to the hospital and that’s when several doctors ran all kinds of test to see what was causing her shortness of breath and where the fluid was coming from. On Monday January 18, 2016 my mom had the fluid drained from her lungs and stomach which was A LOT. The fluid was causing her to be bloated. While draining the fluid the doctors had noticed a sac around her heart which was also filled with fluid. Since there was fluid around the heart it was causing the heart to beat very slow which caused my mom to move to the cardiac floor at the hospital. On Wednesday January 20, 2016 is when my mom found out she had Stage 4 Lung Cancer. When she had told us the news we were all in complete shock and lost for words. It took me a while to believe that my mom had cancer because my mom had always been so healthy and never sick. On Monday February 1, 2016 she got to come home from the hospital which made me so happy because I missed having her at home. After she got home and things had settled down with finding out the news she made an appointment for Wednesday February 16, 2016 with the oncologist at Mercy Cancer Center to find out what the next step would be for her recovery. After the appointment with the oncologist we found out she will need to start Chemo, which she only need’s Chemo every 21 days. When she goes in for her treatment she will need to take 3 different Chemo Medications at one time. My mom does have health insurance but we all know that only covers so much. So what I would like is for my mom to be able to get her treatments and not worry or stress out with the medical bills. She is not working at this moment but she will and wants to get back to work when she gets the OK from the doctor. If you want to bless my family by reaching out to us to show support by donating thru this Gofundme, or just stopping by the house to visit or even a prayer that would be wonderful! So let’s All Stand Together for my mother Fran Bryant who is a very special person and who we love very much. XOXO
