Help Ella

Ella is my best friend Chris' daughter and also my goddaughter. On October 11th I got a call from Chris saying that Ella was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma, an intraocular childhood cancer of that affects approximately 300 children in the United States each year. Needless to say, my heart sank with this news and what it would mean to this little girl not yet even 2 years old. The good news was that more than 90% of children affected can be cured of retinoblastoma by early detection although the affected eye is usually removed, as it was in Ella's case. Since that surgery, Ella has undergone chemotherapy at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and will continue to do so until her doctors are satisfied that her risk of additional cancer has been diminshed. She and her family need help to cope with rising bills and travel expenses.
