Elizabeth Battle, Grandmother of Five, is one of the many Houstonians struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Elizabeth is a 69-year-old widow and lived in the house her Papa built in 1961.
She is currently sleeping on her friends sofa.
Hurricane Harvey devastated many lives. Her entire home was flooded with 1 to 3 feet of water throughout.
Appliances:
Refrigerator
Dishwasher
Washer
Dryer (Had a foot of water)
Most of the Furniture ended up in the burn pile or damaged. Some might have the possibility of restoration.
Of course all Flooring & Sheetrock will need replaced.
16 years ago Topical Storm Allison flooded her home and much of what was able to be saved then, just simply couldn't withstand the second strike. There was a limited amount of help from FEMA 16 years ago & she & her husband used most of their retirement money on refurbishing the home.
Elizabeth worked her entire life in education. Her love of children caused her to teach them of other cultures, music, history, geography & what makes us all connected in this big world. She is such a kind woman…
Most of her family lives elsewhere, her daughter that lives down the road also had her home flooded with extensive damage, and has been dealing with that and & her immediate family.
Elizabeth NEEDS our help.
Setting this goal to reach $10,000… But as you can imagine with as much a loss as has occurred, much more will be needed. So anything will help… As little as five dollars. It all adds up. Please gather our resources & help Elizabeth.
Just so you know, I am Marni Mulvey, Elizabeth's Niece-In-Law & live in Dallas, Texas. While I have started this funding campaign, I will never have access to the funds. All proceeds will go to Elizabeth.
