Dorset Equine Rescue needs our help!

Donation protected
My friend Paige and her friends, Connie & Jen are dedicated to saving neglected and/or slaughter bound horses who end up at auctions or in less than desirable situations through no fault of there own. In May 2014 they received approval as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization They rescue, and provide medical care, rehabilitation and of course lots of love to the horses, (and the occasional mule and donkey) before putting them up for adoption.  In some cases if a horse has been severely neglected and has had an extremely rough life, they will provide a sanctuary where the horse will live out it's life at the Dorset Equine Rescue (DER) in Dorset, Vermont.

All of you know how much Benjamin and I love animals!  We have donated to DER in the past and will sponsor a few of their new rescues ...but we know with the help of our friends and your friends we can do more.  Dorset Equine Rescue is in need of money to continue their rescue efforts and in addition they are currently trying to raise money to fence 2 acres of land and to build a small barn so they can care for more horses in need.  Their rescue "wish list" also includes a 2-3 stall horse trailer (they recently had to borrow a trailer and drove 8 hours for a recent rescue) and funds to bring water lines and electricity out to their two small barns. Paige, Jen, and Connie have done lots of fundraising on their own..they hosted The Barnyard Ball (I loved their local TV spot which you can see on their FB page), have had silent auctions and other fundraisers, but they can't do it all on their own and they need our help.  They have community involvement with volunteers who help them unload bales of hay, and local children who raise money for their cause.  These women are the real deal and they are doing great things and we hope this is a cause that you will consider supporting with us.

So what are we asking you to do?
First:  PLEASE donate money!  My dad used to say, "pennies make dollars" so no amount is too small! Of course if someone wants to break their piggy bank and make a large donation...have at it! We know Paige, she is very invested in this project and we trust her and her team.

Second please share this page on Facebook and also share the link http://www.gofundme.com/HelpDorset-Equine-Rescue via your personal email account so you can reach out to your friends not on Facebook.  You can even get your kids and their friends involved...all for a worthy cause.

Third:  Visit and LIKE The Dorset Equine Rescue FB page https://www.facebook.com/TheDorsetEquineRescue/info to learn more about them, read about their rescues and see for yourself via updated photos how the rescues are progressing in their care.

Many, many, many thanks for reading this post and donating if you can.  All money raised will go directly to the charity after posting. Sending love to you all. xo  Crystal & Benjamin
