Help Don and Marian

On July 12, 2017 Don was up from Fredericksburg, VA for a doctor appointment and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital as his blood pressure was extremely low.  While there they did the routine tests to rule out a stroke, etc. It was determined that he had Sepsis (an infection in his blood) and needed to be admitted for treatment.  Within 24 hours, Don was in Septic shock and was put on life support.  The doctors believe the sepsis stemmed from an infection in his right leg that found its way into his bloodstream.

Don seems to be progressing in the right direction, but he is not out of the woods yet. He will most likely be in CCU for a few more weeks and is not expected to go home for at least 6 months! On top of this, a day ago the doctors gave his wife the devastating news that his right leg and part of his left foot would need to be amputated (this was done on 7/31/2017).

Don and his wife Marian have been married for 52 years, have 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons.  Before this happened they had just sold their home in Manassas, VA and moved south to Fredericksburg, VA to begin their retirement years together; years to travel, enjoy family and friends and enjoy a life they had worked so hard for all these years.

This turn of events will bring countless doctor bills, the need for medical equipment, modifications to their home, months and months of physical therapy and travel expenses for Marian (he is in a hospital in Manassas and their home is in Fredericksburg).
