I'm Mike Sarver, missionary to Ghana, West Africa.Who is Dennis?
At the end of March 2018, I met Dennis and Safia Amponsah for the first time after their sons had visited our church. Safia came to church a week later but Dennis had to return to a different region to work.
Then on April 27, 2018, Dennis was in a mining accident
that caused a compression of the spine which paralyzed Dennis from the waist down.Dennis' Surgery
We started this GoFundMe in May 2018 to raise $4000 for Dennis to have surgery to repair his spine. On June 15, thanks to your help, Dennis had the surgery!
He is now at home. He has feeling in his legs but cannot move them. They are growing in grace.
I have a weekly Bible study with him; his family has been faithful to church.
To date, $4,200 has been raised. The first $4,000 went to pay for the surgery and Dennis’ final hospital bill. The other $200 that has come in helped put food on their table and helped Dennis start therapy.Dennis' Current Need
Every week, Dennis must hire a taxi and pay for a therapy appointment. Rent for a house here must be paid at least a year in advance; their rent of $505 for the next year is past due. Dennis’ wife Safia and nephew Samuel are working, but they only earn at the most $100 per month
; they lack $540
per month for food, medical expenses, and necessities. Our family and church have been helping as we are able.Raising another $4000 will help Dennis and his family get through the next 6 months
financially at which time we can re-evaluate his situation.
Please pray for Dennis’ healing, for the family’s growth in grace and wisdom, and for more to be reached for Christ. Thank you for taking your time to consider this need. God bless you!
