Dawn's Art Space for Girls

Hi. My name is Dawn Bartos and I live in Cleveland, Ohio.   I am a Navy Veteran. I have also served my community, and the school system. My experience  expands through volunteering, coaching, being an entrepreneur, business owner,  as well as being creative and artistic. Most importantly, I am a mom! I have two teenaged daughters both beautiful and artistic. It is because of them and the challenges they personally have faced that this idea was born.   The first step has been taken for further commitment of this idea.  As of now, the name EmPowerGirl Program has been reserved through the state of Ohio for further planning.  The task at hand :  I am looking for a  retail space to bring this idea to fruition.    THE SPACE: I want to create a safe, fun, expressive art space specifically for girls who deal with the commonalities of today’s pressures. This includes bullying,  issues with self-esteem, confidence, and a lack of creative outlet.   Our girls will work with adult women who will teach,  support, empower, inspire, encourage, and engage them through artistic expression while building greater self-confidence and self-esteem! This space will provide a place for our girls to share and create their work in a project based environment, including display and sales of their arts and crafts with the opportunity for participation in their own pop up galleries. I want a place where myself and the other women can share our gifts and talents with the girls  where they can learn through artistic expression that they are strong, independent, and powerful. Where they can take this experience away and share it with their own peers automatically placing themselves in leadership and mentoring positions. YOUR DONATION: Your donation would help build the following fund generating machinery: purchase of a single building, or rented space for 2 years, utilities, general office supplies, art supplies (paints, brushes, easels, canvas, paper, pens, pencils, chalks, journals, clay, fabrics, etc.) and gallery displays. REWARDS: $1+ receives a thank you and an invite to a  public gallery showing. $1000+ receives a thank you and an invite to a private   gallery showing and a meet and greet with the young artists! COST OF RENT OR PURCHASED BUILDING: Single buildings range from $200,000.00+ in my area. Rent ranges from $1000.00+ monthly for the space I am anticipating. Ideally, this retail space will include the space needed to work, hold gatherings, share ideas, display, sell their art and hold gallery events. FUNDRAISING DEADLINE: I am hoping to reach my financial goal by June 2018!  I know it's a short time, and I will be appreciative and thankful for whatever amount is donated for this wish. I will ultimately keep donations open until the goal is finally met and update along the way! COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: I would like  to make this a self-sustaining project, engage the local community through various forms of outreach and encourage participation by partnering with local business owners, schools, and community events. By having this space, the girls will become stronger, more confident by learning about their creativity, expressing it, and then taking it a step further by becoming their own business owners! They will learn how to run their own program and become young, artistic entrepreneurs!  Thank you so much for your generous consideration, and for helping make this space become a reality.
