If you're reading this you probably know Conor Montgomery from around the community over the decades. Conor is a working class transgender person and a long-term community activist and has given back to the Sydney LGBT community in the form of musical entertainment, protest organizing, speaking on panels and in documentaires, and fighting for trans peoples rights on a national level. And, of course, he's a Man with a Van, so you know he has helped moved you or someone you know, delivered the sound system for a protest you attended once, or is the reason your sharehouse has that washing machine from Gumtree!
After 4 years of medical crisises and multiple major surguries, Conor is finally physically well enough to start a new chapter of his life up on the north coast, where it's a bit quieter and easier to focus on health and lifestyle as an aging person.
Department of Housing NSW comitted to covering
Conor's moving expenses, and then later retracted the offer, which is where we come in. Conor is downsizing his one bedroom appartment to the bare essentials for the move, but as a disabled pensioner he isn't in a position to cover the expenses of interstate removalists. Lets throw in what we can to help this ledgendary trans community elder retire in peace!
