I was all ready to leave home and head to the University to prepare for a big presentation, but I never made it past my parking lot that day. Instead, I found myself lying face down on the concrete, pinned beneath my 350-pound power wheelchair.
This accident resulted from using a vehicle that was not adequately equipped for the disabled. Luckily, I escaped that day with only broken foot, broken ankle, and broken hip bones. But I can only hope that I will never have to endure another excruciating experience like this again. That's why I NEED YOUR HELP!
A specialized wheelchair-accessible van with the proper adaptive equipment will allow me to travel SAFELY with my power wheelchair. This highly specialized vehicle will cost at least $50,000, but a generous agency has agreed to cover half the cost if I can raise the remaining $25,000.
