Glyn's cancer treatment expenses

In November of 2013, Glyn was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma - a fairly rare blood related cancer formed by malignant plasma cells. Normal plasma cells are found in the bone marrow and are an important part of the immune system. Currently, there is currently no cure for Multiple Myeloma. In March 2014, Glyn had a bone marrow transplant, while the treatment is regarded as successful, the nature of Multiple Myeloma requires him to receive on-going maintenance chemotherapy to prevent the disease from progressing.


Glyn is a hard-working individual who enjoys life to fullest extent. He continues to work full time - even while receiving ongoing maintenance chemo - and that's where the issue is... Glyn does not receive healthcare benefits through his employment which means he must bear the full cost of buying healthcare coverage, paying deductibles, prescriptions, and other out of pocket expenses himself. 

Over the past three years, healthcare premiums have sky-rocketed and the services that are covered have reduced year on year. Typically, over a three-month period, Glyn's healthcare expenses are close to $4500! 

This fundraiser is to help Glyn cover three months of healthcare expenses so he can take care of some aging bills and cover some of the next round. Your help - no matter how small - is truly appreciated.

In an effort raise more awareness of Multiple Myeloma, if this campaign raises more than the target of $4500, a donation will be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
