Elyse & Andy are proud to announce the birth of their beautiful son Jackson Wallace Lane born 10/10/14 at 10:23pm weighing 6.5lbs. Jackson was born with the most rare form of chronic heart disease, Tetralogy of Fallot with absent Absent Pulmonary Valve Syndrome. Essentially the artery that goes from the heart to the lungs has no valve to hold blood and provide blood to the lungs. His lungs are very damaged & his heart is three times larger than it should be.
They are at Stanford Medical because they have one of the best heart sugeons in the world. They got there on Wednesday and Elyse went in to emergency surgery on Friday. Jackson was welcomed 3 weeks early. It just so happens the last 3 weeks of pregnancy are the most important to the babies lung developmet. Recovery can be anywhere from 2 to 12 months before being released to breathe on his own. He will most likely require 4 more surgeries. The first 3 days have been rough as you can imagine. He can't breathe on his own until they fix his heart and train his lungs to function.
He has a long road ahead but has so many friends and family caring for him. Prayers are welcomed! Funds are needed to cover expenses during this difficult time. Thanks again to everyone who has been so supportive during this process.
