Please Help Our Friend Arol!

A great friend and colleague , Arol Guy is suffering from a severe form of cancer that requires very specialized, expensive treatments.
It started out as a trip to the emergency room, with what Arol thought was bronchitis, after having dealt with complications from shingles. He was admitted, and things quickly took a turn for the worst, as he began to have heart failure. His blood pressure dropped to dangerously low levels. After doctors stabilized Arol, they ran an exhaustive list of tests to determine what was happening. This is when he found out that he has a very aggressive and incurable type of cancer.
In July, he had Chemotherapy treatment. Arol’s body immediately rejected chemo and caused him to have life threatening complications.
Arol was advised to try an experimental treatment that could give him more time to spend with loved ones, and provide him with a better quality of life. The only downfall, is that the bi-monthly treatment, is $2000.00 CAD per treatment. He will need two treatments per month.
Arol paid for his first treatment out of pocket, as this type of alternative treatment is only partially covered by insurance. After only one treatment, he showed some improvement and this provided hope for future treatments. Arol will be having his second treatment on Tuesday September 5th, 2017. The drug manufacturer, Bayer’s has agreed to pay for the first treatment, as compassion.
Family has been supporting Arol as much as possible, but this is where we, as his friends, relatives, co-workers and even strangers, can step in to help.
As we all know, Arol is a man with a very big heart and kind soul. He has always shown great compassion and respect towards others and is the first person to offer his support and help for others.
He is also the last person who would ever ask for anything, from anyone.
This is exactly why we are reaching out to everyone to help, on his behalf. He is just starting his journey of treatments. There will be in-home care, additional treatments, medical equipment, time away from work and family travel expenses (for support), that medical insurance does not cover.
We are asking anyone who can donate, to find it within themselves to help our good friend and family member, get the treatment he needs.
Natalie Fortin has been named as the beneficiary for this Go-fund-Me, on behalf of Arol. She will ensure that all of these funds are used for Arol's treatments and needs. Natalie has been helping Arol on a daily basis with appointments, filling out forms etc and will continue to support him throughout his treatments. Thank you Natalie.
