Urgent Surgery!
I am getting in touch with you because I have started a GoFundMe to help raise funds to pay for a surgical procedure to remove a cancerous, grape fruit sized lymph node from my neck. Your help would mean the world to me as I fight this life threatening disease.
Unfortunately, I've fallen on some tough financial times, and desperately need your help raising these funds for the surgery and for follow up care. I've been contacting everyone I know to help me reach my funding goal.

Here's what happened to me.
For those who don't know me, I'm American Chiropractor living in Phuket, Thailand. I was born in the UK and immigrated to US with my father in 1976 when I was 16. I lived in Southern California for many years before moving to Phuket in 2010.
One year ago, I was involved in a hit and run motor accident when I was struck from behind sitting on my motorbike at an intersection waiting to make a right turn. The accident resulted in me sustaining a fractured and dislocated left shoulder and fractured right wrist.
Not more than a month after the accident a lump appeared on the side of my neck. I had it removed and the biopsy revealed that I had cancer in my lymph node.
About 5 months ago another swollen lymph node appeared and has now despite treatment grown to the size of a grape fruit. It is very painful, and oozes putrid puss, blood and lymph fluid.
It's becoming much harder for me to work as it gets larger and more painful. I don't know how much more I can take.
After the accident, I couldn't work for six months to recuperate from my injuries and there after only part time because of the cancer.
I did have insurance, Regency for Expats, at the time of the cancer diagnosis, but they refused to cover my claim saying it was a pre-existing condition despite many appeals from my doctors. This is the same company that advertises that they cover 90% of all claims.,
Without health, or disability insurance, my savings have dwindled to next to nothing from covering all my expenses.
I'm currently exploring options to either have the surgery and continue treating here in Thailand, or traveling back to the US or UK to get further care as I'm citizen of both. The only problem is that I don't have US health insurance. With the current US political climate, it could be challenging finding quality care.
I do have to decide soon as it's becoming more and more difficult to move around and could prevent me from traveling. I may have no choice but to get the surgical treatment here first in Thailand. I'm already practically living on pain killers and anti-inflammatories.
It's ironical after spending all my career as a chiropractor helping thousands of patients that I would find myself in such dire straits.
