A mom's wish for her babies!

Dear Friends,
Many of your have heard me speak of my friend Christine. For those of you who do not know here story, Christine is a 32 year old single mother of two small children, Aaliyah Renee is 5 and Angelo is 4 years old.
Christine is dying of cervical cancer.
I met Christine and the children's father through Derrick soon after we moved to Texas. Christine and I bonded in that she was born in the same small town in Massachusetts that my mother was born in. Christine's life has always been a struggle, she has never had it easy. Medical issues have always been an underlining problem, but after meeting the children's father she thought her life had turned around. The relationship between Christine and the children's father became volatile and ended. During their relationship Derrick and I became very close with the children and they with us. We are Auntie Amy & Uncle Derrick! After the breakup we lost touch until I received a phone call last November from Christine and she was crying. Christine told me that she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer and was advised to get her affairs in order. Due to other underlining issues they could not tell her how much time she has...it could be a year or 5 years, but things will not be getting better. Christine was very strong and matter of fact during that first conversation and asked Derrick and I if we would take custody of the children when she passed away. There was no question, of course we would. From this point forward we have taken it upon ourselves to watch out for both Christine and the kids! Christine has no family here in Texas, so I have attended doctors appointment, picked up medicine and have taken her to the emergency room when the pain becomes unbearable. This last Friday was a bad night; we were in the emergency room for 7 hours trying to get the pain under control. While we were there Christine brought up a previous discussion where I told Aaliyah that when she turned 10 we would go to Disney World. She asked if I thought there would be anyway to go sooner. With tears in her eyes she said that she would really like to be there when her babies saw Mickey, Minnie & Cinderella for the first time. This broke my heart. Financially we have not been able to do as much as we would like and saving for such a big trip would take several years. It's beginning to look like we are not going to have several years.
A friend of mine had suggested this website to me as an easy way to communicate with friends and family and ask for help.

I am asking you today, if you are financially able to donate? Donations of any amount are welcome, no donation is too small.

I am sharing this with you, my friends and family, but please if Christine's story moves you, share this with your friends and family.

I hate to ask for the help, but time is not on our side and I can not do this alone.

Feel free to contact me if you would like more information about Christine or the kids.

Thank you for your generosity!
