Africa Missions Trip: Amber's Fund

Donation protected

Dear friends and family,

I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity coming up in July that I would love to tell you about! I have made the decision to go with Coastal Community Church to South Africa on a short-term mission trip July 16-July 25.  We will be working with an organization called Children’s Cup.  As a church, we have actually purchased land and are beginning to build our very own CarePoint in Thubelisha.  I would be among the first group from our church to see this CarePoint in action providing the needs of Thubelisha.
I also have the opportunity to meet my sponsor child and spend a whole day with him while we are there for our mission trip! What an incredible experience that will be!

This is Mandisa!  His smile is beautiful and I can't wait to love on him!

About Children’s Cup:
It was founded in 1992 by missionaries Dave and Jean Ohlerking, who began to work in Africa by feeding hungry children and doing so with a determination to make a lasting impact through sustainable community transformation.  Twenty one years later, they are seeing the fruit of their labor.  Children, who came to their CarePoints hungry and desperate for food and hope, now have grown into bright, hope-filled young adults leading the way in their families and communities.    CarePoints are places where children are given meals, medical care, character development, education, assistance and Jesus.  Coastal Community Church has been partnering with Children’s Cup for the past couple of years, and this will be the second year we are sending a team to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of children in Africa.

I am excited about this opportunity for several reasons but here are a few:
·       It will change my outlook and better equip me to serve others in my community when I return. For those that follow me on social media, you may have noticed my passion to “serve” since before I began college.  Serving has been a passion of mine for many years but going to South Africa will present me with the ultimate serving opportunity!  Please help me extend my servant heart to the village of Thubelisha in South Africa!

·       The community service work I did during my four years at Tusculum College were inspiring and left me with a feeling that I can do more some day.  This will be a passion fulfilled.

·       Africa is a huge step out of my comfort zone, which means GROWTH! I’m excited for how God will use me to reach others in South Africa. At the Care Points I hope to demonstrate the love, hope and faith that Jesus did in the early days.

·       I know the Lord will not give me passion without giving me provision; this is yet another test of my faith where I am learning to lean on Him and grow in my spiritual walk.

In order to make this journey, I will need some assistance with:
·Prayer! I need friends and family to pray for me and our team. I would love for you to pray for strength emotionally, physically, and spiritually as well as meeting my financial needs required for this trip.
·Finances! I am raising funds to cover the cost of my trip which is $3,800. I would love for friends and family to partner with me financially. This cost covers my airfare, lodging, transportation and meals during my time in Africa.  I would like to ask you to consider making a donation. Take some time to think and pray about it. If you are led to help out with this need it would be greatly appreciated! Every little bit counts.

The deadline for turning in full funding for the trip is June 4th.

Blessings,
