Help for the Johnson-Bonham Family

Rewind to early 2014. At that time Heather was just 37 years old with lots of life ahead of her. She was loving life as a mother, sister, aunt, and daughter. In August 2014, our family received the devastating news of Breast Cancer. As you can imagine it came as a shock and brought us to our knees. We truly had no idea what we were in for and the medical appointments and surgeries came barreling at us like a freight train. But through it all there was a glimmer of hope. Hope for recovery and an end to the madness so that Heather could continue on with her life cancer free. Through it all Heather stayed positive, as did the rest of the family. We held on tight to each other and made it out on the other end.

Fast forward to November 2016 and here we are again, yet this time we are fighting a whole new beast called Metastatic Breast Cancer. That bright light of hope has slowly diminished as we shift our focus to making the best of every day that we have left. With a diagnosis such as Metastatic Breast Cancer, mounting medical bills and nontraditional treatments have now become a reality to ensure that she is as comfortable as possible and get through each day.

Through it all there have been two individuals who are just as much the victim as Heather. Mariah and Cassius are her children. Let’s talk a little bit about these two gems. It’s hard to put into words how proud these kids make this family on a daily basis. Mariah is a college student majoring in Psychology and hopes to attend graduate school following her graduation SUNY Oneonta. Her passion is running track, which she excels in. Cassius is a wonderful young man who makes us laugh every time we are together. He is smart and caring and never ceases to amaze those who have a pleasure to be around him. Mariah and Cassius have many years in between them but the love they have for each other is endless and heartwarming to witness. Heathers children are who they are today because of the values and love that she instilled on them.

Heather is an amazing person with so many people that love her. She brings a smile to your face just by being in the room with her. As her family, we could not imagine life without her. We reminisce on the good times and push forward to prepare for the future. By your donations we are securing the future for her children along with ensuring that Heather is able to enjoy the rest of her life as comfortable as possible and maybe even make a few more of those precious memories to look back on. The Johnson family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. Please pray for our family as we continue on.
