Story

A Fundraising Appeal for Yaa Achiaa House 2 – Yaa Asantewaa Senior High School, Tanoso-Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana Dear Friends, Family, Old Students, and Supporters, We write this with heartfelt urgency and pride to our alma mater, Yaa Asantewaa Senior High School, to ask for your support in restoring our cherished dormitory — House 2, Yaa Achiaa. This dormitory has been more than a building to us. It was a home — a place where we studied by torchlight, shared dreams in hushed tones, built lifelong friendships, and found the strength to become the women we are today. But today, House 2 is in desperate need of renovation. The Problem Years of wear and limited funding have left Yaa Achiaa Dormitory in a critical condition: Crumbling floors and walls ️Broken beds and overcrowded rooms Unhygienic washroom facilities Poor lighting and ventilation These conditions are unsafe, uncomfortable, and unworthy of the bright young women who currently live there. We believe they deserve better — just like we once had. Our Goal We are raising $40, 000 USD to fund much-needed renovations, including: Structural and flooring repairs Electrical Replacement of mosquito nets Complete upgrade of bathrooms and sanitation systems Fence wall Painting and beautification of the dormitory Why It Matters Yaa Asantewaa Senior High School is more than a school — it is a legacy of excellence, strength, and sisterhood. And House 2 – Yaa Achiaa holds a special place in that legacy. By restoring it, we’re not just fixing a building — we’re preserving a tradition, securing a safe space for today’s students, and giving them the dignity they deserve. Whether you are an old student, a friend of the school, or someone who believes in the power of education, we ask for your support. Dear Friends, Family, Old Students, and Supporters,

We write this with heartfelt urgency and pride to our alma mater, Yaa Asantewaa Senior High School, to ask for your support in restoring our cherished dormitory — House 2, Yaa Achiaa.
