Help a disabled fellow officer

In 2013 I was heading to meet my unit in the Bronx for a fugitve aprehenson and my vehicle was struck 4(yes 4) times from the rear by a scrap metal truck. The accident injuried my back, neck and left shoulder. Since then I have had 3 surgeries on my back, 2 on my shoulder, 1 on my neck along with countless smaller operations to help with the pain and a chance at a normal life again. Unfortunalty none have worked...

In 2016 I was retired by the agency due to disability, unfortunately the  NY state does not take care of their officers like the city does. There is no 3/25 pension there is only 1/3 of your highest salary. For me my pension is $1,400 a month with a family of 4. Workers comp makes you feel like its your fault you were hurt, and after fighting with them they have ceased to pay for my medical bills. To keep my health insurance it cost me $750.00 a month on a $1,400 budget. I have tried my best to make what I get work, and the medical bills, co-payments, everyday bills just mount up to where its like being in a ocean with the water has you in its grips. The medical bills are mounting up, I owe in back property taxes, but most of all its the medical.

I have borrowed from family and friends to be able to provide for my family, gone into debt with no light at the end of the tunnel. A family member suggested this, I said what do I have to loose. Its hard going from doing a job you love, being active in life to out of no where the brakes are put on and you are forced to stop being you.

During my life I was able to do many things I loved, going to the gym, being in law enforcement wearing a uniform that meant the world to me, being a professional wrestler, and finally achieving my dreams and getting into the one unit at work I wanted to be in. But nothing more important and heart felt was being a Father and Husband. And all of this ended after I was injured, to say I am lost in this world is an understatement.
