<div>Owner Autumn Wilson and her husband were inspired to bring this global franchise to West Michigan after their daughter, Everly, was diagnosed with autism at age 2½. As parents, they saw firsthand the lack of public play spaces where children with sensory needs and developmental differences could truly feel safe, understood, and included.

<div>We Rock the Spectrum – Grand Rapids is a locally owned and operated sensory gym committed to inclusive play for children of all abilities. The gym was founded by Autumn Wilson and her husband, inspired by their daughter Everly, who was diagnosed with autism at just 2½ years old. After struggling to find a public space where Everly could feel safe, comfortable, and understood, the Wilsons realized that many other families were facing the same challenge—and they felt called to take action.

<div>They discovered We Rock the Spectrum, a global franchise with a mission that aligned perfectly with their vision. With a deep passion for inclusion and a significant personal investment, the Wilsons brought this much-needed resource to the Grand Rapids community.

<div>At WRTS–Grand Rapids, the focus is on “Play With a Purpose.” The gym features specialized sensory equipment typically found only in private therapy clinics—such as swings, ziplines, climbing walls, crash pits, and more. These tools are designed to support sensory regulation, fine and gross motor skills, social interaction, emotional development, and communication. The facility also includes a wheelchair-accessible play area, a toddler zone, and enrichment opportunities for both neurodivergent and neurotypical children.

<div>Programming includes open play sessions, birthday parties, field trips, caregiver respite care, seasonal camps, and community-based programs, creating a welcoming space where families feel safe, supported, and never judged. As the brand’s motto says: “Finally, a place where you never have to say ‘I’m sorry.’”
