Where do I begin? What started out as a stomach ache and having stones in his Gallbladder turned into having one of the most difficult and rarest Cancers to cure "Adeno Carcinoma - Ampullary Cancer". My brother Sergio went to the Emergency room with extreme pain and itchiness all over his body. He was admitted and given an Endoscopy that showed the doctors too much inflammation was going on, Therefore, Sergio received antibiotics and not allowed to eat in hopes of getting his swelling to go down .
After almost two weeks of being hospitalized and not working. Sergio was discharged only to be asked to return two weeks later on March 22nd, 2018 for a repeat of the Endoscopy and removal of his Gallbladder. THIS IS WHEN IT ALL WENT VERY DARK.
The Endoscopy was not successful. The surgeon advised there was a mass blocking Sergio's bile ducts between his Pancreas, Gallbladder, Liver and Small Intestine and five biopsies had been taken from this area.
On Monday, March 26, 2018 we accompanied Sergio for the results of the Biopsy taken where they informed us it was CANCER.
Due to the urgency this cancer is handled with...We took Sergio to a Cancer Institute, where multiple tests have begun in order to get full clearance for the " Whipple Surgical Procedure" Sergio needs.
We have walked into a darker place in our lives in less than one week of receiving the cancer news only to learn my brother needs Bypass Surgery of (5) main Arteries in his heart before he can commence Cancer Surgery & Cancer Treatment.
Please help us get Sergio through this process. Anything you give will be greatly appreciated and will help in getting him one step closer to overcoming this terrible disease. God bless you all and thank you for your donations!!!
