Help Santa Barbaran Get Housed During Covid

A woman I know needs our help. She was given two nights in a motel for the holidays and this fundraiser was set up to extend that and to have an emergency motel fund to miss the colder rainy weather and to allow her to see rentals where she could use her housing voucher. Since she has no car or home, she has to endure bad weather and fire threats while sleeping in a park and that is especially difficult with her disability and poor health. A motel offers a place to access listings and rental applications on the internet and a chance to catch up on her creative writing work.

Being homeless while she looked for housing was bad enough pre-Covid but now without the public library computers and Covid restrictions in place, any search for housing is impossible.  

She is a long time resident of Santa Barbara, and an award winning musician, poet and author who taught music to children in and after school programs here.  She deserves a chance to use her voucher and to have a break from wind and rain. And it may be easier to find something before college students and tourists return (although 'easier' is a relative term).
