<div>I have been living and working in Gaza as Paediatric Dentist. My daily work entailed working closely and providing a wide variety of dental treatment to children of various ages and backgrounds, to motivate, inspire and encourage children of all ages to maintain and improve their oral health. As a paediatric dentist, my responsibility was not only confined to the oral health of my young patients but was also to give these children hope, optimism and a positive outlook in life.

<div>It was during my service to these children, that I found my love and soulmate, Dr. Rawan. We got engaged over a year ago, and we decided on an apartment. We designed and renovated every single detail of our home to be, piece by piece, with love and passion so we can build a wonderful future together serving our people. We finally achieved our dream and opened our own dental clinic late last year.

<div>Our wedding was on the 6th October 2023, only a day before the catastrophic war was unleashed upon the people of Gaza. The day after our wedding, we woke up to the sounds of horrific bombardment and explosions, and the sound of collapsing buildings, this tragic war had befallen us. We had to abandon our home in Gaza City and flee to the south to Deir El Balah. We are among the countless others that have been displaced by this cruel and unexpected war that unfolds daily on your TV screens. Our world has been turned upside down in the blink of an eye, it is still difficult to absorb and rationalize everything, we are in a state of shock and exhaustion. Gaza has become a graveyard.

<div>Our entire neighbourhood and our homes have been destroyed due to the constant bombardment, our personal apartment had been burnt and our new dental clinic has been destroyed. Our hard work and dreams have all but vanished into thin air.
