Help Milly

You wouldn't know it by the picture above, but I found this  cute little 8-10 week old puppy abandoned, injured and screaming in pain in a parking lot over the Memorial Day weekend in central Minnesota. I don't know how long she had been there, but I do know she was happy to see somebody greet her.   After trying to unsuccessfully locate her owners, I bundled her up and drove her to the vet in nearby St. Cloud to get her examined. The x-rays showed a broken humerus (that's her front upper leg bone) and doctors reported she had to get surgery.  Her  only other options would be surrender to Animal Control or the Humane Society, and most likely euthanization. I could not do that, and I am hoping you feel the same way. Thus, Milly (named after the Minnesota Lake Mille Lacs) came home cradled in our camper and is now being cared for by my vet in Minneapolis.

Milly had surgery on May 29th to install an external fixator on her leg, and everything looks to be a success!  She is expected to make a complete recovery and be able to run around and play on all 4 legs, instead of the 3 she is currently hobbling around on.

The down side of taking care of this cute little girl is that her medical expenses are very high. Her medical costs have been estimated at anywhere between $3500 and $4000 when it is all said and done. If there is any way that you can donate any amount to help cover her medical expenses, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you are willing, I would love to have this posted on your Facebook pages or websites as well.  Anything to help get the word out would be great!   All money collected (minus the fees I need to pay to use this site, and collect donations) will go directly to Milly's cost.   If you would like to donate directly to me so that all money goes directing to Milly, please let me know. If by chance, Milly collects more money than is needed for her care, those funds will be donated to a nonprofit, no kill shelter in the Minneapolis area.

Milly is such a spunky little puppy.  She loves to play, cuddle and give lots of kissies :) I know that she will have a great life in front of her once she gets through this hurdle.
