Help Michael find some PEACE

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Deanna; anyone who knows me knows my passion for my fellow humans and how important helping others is to me.  My kindred spirit and friend who shares my passion for helping others, Jeannine and her son Michael is finding themselves in a situation where they now need help. It is very hard for Jeannine to ask for help.  As long as I have known her, she has been on a mission to help others. It has always been her calling and it is her passion. This is where she finds her peace.  She is now in a position where she needs to ask for help and it is extremely hard for her, so I have decided to reach out for her. She needs our help so here goes;

 Jeannine and her family need a motor home, no older than 1989, that is in good livable condition for her and her special needs son to move into. They recently went on a trip to a live-in campground and it was phenomenally therapeutic for Michael!

Although they have a small amount saved up, they are far from all the money it takes to purchase a home for themselves. And finance companies will not finance “used” motor homes( we have researched and been told no).Additionally, the new models are just way out of their price range, even if  she were able to get financed for one.

She is raising her grandson, as a single parent and has had him since he was an infant. Michael is an amazing boy even with all his disabilities and he is her world. And he is always the reason for every decision she makes and everything she does. Michael has some issues and he has some pretty significant special needs. But he has a heart of gold and has SO much potential. She has prayed long and hard about this since returning to Oregon City. And she feels that this is the best, no it is the only move for Michaels peace of mind. And so, I am writing this to support her in this next endeavor to help her family. Mom is ready to make a rather drastic change in their lives to help her son.  Finding living arrangements is one of many steps, but this one is the most crucial.

 They are moving to a secluded campground outside of a small town in eastern Oregon where they have more family support and less stressors for Michael. There are jobs that are available for her to support herself and Michael, jobs that are supportive of his barriers. And there is a safety net there with family members who love and will help and support them emotionally during this transition.

 Covid has taken a toll on Michael.  He cannot play with his friends like he used to, and with everything shut down, his outings are limited drastically, and he is a child, so it is hard for him to understand why he cannot come and go as he pleases with this crisis.  Because of his disabled cognitively he cannot understand or accept all the changes suddenly thrust upon him and it is manifesting as intense emotional breakdowns, often times daily. While visiting the campground, he did not have a single meltdown. In fact on the last day he approached his mom after a long walk, taken by himself and stated,” Mom I have never felt like this in my life. This must be what peace feels like.”

 Upon returning, his emotional breakdowns are once again often, more explosive and they last longer and longer each time he has one.

If  we can get help from this wonderful community so that  they can purchase a motor home, Michael and Jeannine can move close to family, in a small community where there is lots of nature around, and where Michael can feel “better”, have fewer meltdowns, and they can continue living a better quality of life.

 We do have our sights on a motor home that the owner’s want $9.500 for, and she does have a small amount of savings to put towards the purchase price, but it is not enough.  She also has already started selling everything she owns, that is how important her sons wellbeing is to her; furniture, odds and ends, etc. to help towards the purchase price as well.

Anything anyone can do to help will be greatly appreciated.   God bless you all and Thank You.
