<div>Facial Feminisation Surgery (FFS) is a combination of surgical procedures aimed at reducing what could be called ‘masculine facial features’, giving the face a softer and more feminine look.

<div>After first being referred to the NHS gender identity service in 2016, I finally started to receive medical treatment in 2019. Mentally and physically I have never felt so confident in my own skin. Though the assistance offered by the NHS has been extraordinarily welcome, they do not currently offer help with FFS.

<div>I am immensely troubled by the shape of my face. The knowledge that I have the ability to align it physically with my identity brings me a real sense of hope. It would undoubtedly improve my quality of life by alleviating the constant sense of dysphoria I experience.

<div>It’s important to say that I understand that everyone is going to be hit financially in the situation we find ourselves in. I had decided to wait until a time where things were more certain, but who can be certain when that would be. I’d like to at least get the ball rolling, pushing again in the future with some fundraising events and gigs and that, sooo something to look forward to.
