We reach out to you today to let you know that a valued, long term member of our Horizon family has been recently diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Many of you may know Joanne Gifford. She is the Community Manager at The Colony at Bear Creek in Redmond, WA. She has been a member of the HRA team since its formation and an employee of Mike Strand's for over 18 years. Joanne is a mother of 2 beautiful young ladies. Her 11 year old daughter Jade lost her father to cancer just earlier this year. Joanne has already begun chemo treatment and recently underwent major surgery. As a single parent undergoing this treatment finances are tight. We would like to come together as a family and raise money to assist Joanne in this difficult time. We are asking our 23 community managers to raise $1,000 per property. The HRA corporate office will set a goal to raise an additional $2,000 with an ultimate goal of raising $25,000 for Joanne. Please reach out to your friends, families, vendors, co-workers as well as any other creative fundraising activities you can think of. She needs all of our help as soon as possible to cover the expenses she is beginning to incur. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by December 25th.
