The Finnell family is made up of Sean (30), Jaimee (29), and their two daughters, Gracee (6) and Taylin (4).
Jaimee and both girls have Li-Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS) which is a rare genetic mutation that causes multiple, usually early onset cancers. Individuals with LFS have an increased risk of developing cancers at young ages. Jaimee's father's side of the family has been completely wiped out from cancers due to LFS.
Jaimee recently (end of June) had a mastectomy, a hysterectomy and an oophorectomy to try and avoid certain cancers. Unfortunately, they found cancer in her breast. She is now doing weekly chemo treatments.
Gracee and Taylin will need to be screened every 3-4 months for the foreseeable future. This will include MRI's, ultrasounds, and blood tests. This will be very stressful and confusing for their little bodies so prayers would be very helpful.
Sean and Jaimee's health insurance covers all but 5% of her chemotherapy treatments, which sounds good until you hear that each treatment costs upwards of $20,000 each. This does not include any of her necessary prescriptions that are out-of-pocket and upfront cash price. She's almost at her cap for prescription reimbursements for the year.
It also doesn't even begin to cover any necessary medical screening expenses, per the LFS cancer protocol, that are out-of-pocket for Gracee or Taylin.
Jaimee is very apprehensive about asking for this assistance but at this point in time it has become a necessity. The last thing we want her or her husband worrying about is money.
