Help Disabled Veterans Move

We are three service-related disabled U.S. Navy veterans who live together to share our expenses, allowing us to be able to afford a place in San Diego which caters to our disabilities and needs. We have an excellent property management company, and a very nice owner. We’ve lived in our home for four happy years after having been evicted when the owner of our previous home wanted to sell it to take advantage of higher market rates.

Unfortunately, our very nice owner, who is also also disabled, can no longer afford to live where he does, and needs his house back. Considering our mutual issues, I don’t blame him, or the property managers, at all.

But this leaves us three without a place to live. We have until the 1st of July, 2019 to move.

We do have some resources available, which we are tapping into. The property management company has told us it will assist us with finding a place, and we’re not unfamiliar with finding places ourselves. We have some limited savings that can probably cover the costs of the move itself.  But we only live on enough to just get by. The added expenses for deposits and first month’s rent are things we simply can not afford, even if we saved every extra dollar over the next two months.

We’ve taken pride in our ability to get by on our own resources. It’s often tough, and we have never before asked anyone for help. But getting by in San Diego sometimes takes more, even when no one is to blame, and this is one of those times. We’re only asking help to cover what we need, and will be immensely grateful for anything we can get from friends and family and even strangers and our fellow Veterans.
