DHRUV'S FUNDRAISER
Dhruv was born happy and healthy. At 18 months we found out something was wrong as he was not making any eye-contact, and he was not saying any words. We went to the Pediatrician and he referred us to the Neurologist who diagnosed him having Autism. We began this journey working with my son myself when he was 18 months old when i noticed he was not responding to me and took him to the Pediatrician and then we visited to the Neurologist and she diagnosed him autism.
His Early Intervention journey began when he was 21 months old. upto 3 years he received ABA Therapy,Occupational Therapy and Special Education at home. After 3 years we put him in pre-school along with his GFCF diet, Herbal medication & neuro-developmental treatment. I began researching different types of therapies,diet. He has many allergies like Pollen/food/weather/nuts/ etc.
As you are aware insurance carriers consider all the above items not medically necessary and the financial responsibility falls solely on the parents. This is extremely difficult for us. He needs to continue this extensive and sometimes expensive program in order to help to improve his language and his condition. The Basic principles of this alternative treatment that is not covered through government programs nor medical insurance is driven by principles that true to who we are as a family. It is based on uncondiitional love, embracing Autism as a gift, and never setting limitations on our child!!!
Dhruv started forming sounds with treatment. We have seen consistent progress since he started school and also I quit my job to work with him at home. Now Dhruv is 10 years old and very handsome boy, but we are still missing some part to finish the puzzle-he is unable to form full sentences, express his needs, feelings, needs assistance with ADLs. He lacks social skills. We believe that the Son-Rise Program offers the best training for parents and families to provide therapy for Dhruv at home.
I attended Start Up program at the The Autism Treatment Center of Ameica in Massachusetts in in October 2012 and it literally changed our lives, after working with my son we found that Dhruv made the most progress in his language, eye-contact, social interaction,in academic like maths, Arts and Language,consistence in his speech. I see staedy improvement-- he is showing interest in learning music-piano,trying to communicate some of his needs through I-pad. Also Academically he is showing more interest in all subjects. He is saying whole sentence like "I love you mom"," I want water","I want to play" etc. He sings alongwith me. We have had tremendous succes with the program so far but we still need more training to complete Dhruv's recovery.
Start Up program gave me the confidence, knwoledge and tools. As Dhruv is responding well to the treatment-we as parents have become hopeful that our child may become self dependent. The next training is called Maximum Impact and New Frontier Program. The Smallest donation helps! So please give if you can help us reach our goals.

THE SON-RISE PROGRAM
The Son-Rise Program was founded in the early 1970"˜s in Sheffield Massachusetts by Bears Barry Neil and Samharia Kaufman, who recovered their profoundly autistic son, Raun, who is now the CEO of the company. Son-Rise is located at the Autism Treatment Center of America in Sheffield, Massachussett. It is a home-based program that has helped thousands recover from autism.
With the tools we will receive at the Autism Treatment Center of America, it is our intention to heal Dhruv's autism through the power of unconditional love and acceptance. It is also our intention to help others like Dhruv within the community to do the same. Latest statistics show that one out of 50 children now has autism. We CAN pick up the pieces and solve the puzzle. People are doing it every day.
