Our precious daughter, Amira, has been battling a relentless foe since the day she was born – <a href="https://smauk.org.uk/support-information/recently-diagnosed-with-sma/recent-diagnosis-sma-type-1/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Type 1 Spinal Muscular Atrophy</a> (SMA). It's a cruel and unforgiving condition that, without treatment, claims the lives of 100% of sufferers by the tender age of 2. Amira's life has been a constant struggle, but amidst the darkness, there is a glimmer of light - a treatment that has given us hope, a chance at life.

Every day we spend with her is a precious gift, but we know that the clock is ticking. SMA is a merciless thief, robbing children of their strength, mobility, and, ultimately, their lives. But Amira has received a miracle – a newly created treatment that has stopped the impending 2-year life expectancy clock from chiming out.

We hold our breath with each passing moment, cherishing every laugh, every milestone, and every precious memory.
