Build in carport into bedroom and bath

Approximately 5 years ago he became disabled from a heart disorder which as of today has him hospitalized waiting for heart surgery.  Long term he will need a transplant, but he is not well enough for a transplant.   Short term doctors will insert a LVAD which is a pump which will take stress away from his damaged heart and allow him to get strong enough for a heart transplant when one is available.

Here is where we need help he lives in a tri-plex home with bathrooms in the lower and upper part of the home.  We need to inclose his carport into a bedroom and bath.  This would I able him to live on one level.
