Approaching week 9....... Our Heidi continues her mighty fight. She refuses to give up and she is giving it her all. Heidi is determined to beat this demon and come out the victor. This does not come without a huge sacrifice. She has officially jepordised her insurance situation by not giving up and going back to her previous employment. All the stops are pulled out now for her victory. No Turning back. As a result her financial situation is now critical and we are reaching out to any and all friends and family to assist her in the fight. In light of the fact that she is in treatment, her bills continue to grow. But we can't have her give up because of a financial dilemma. This is much more than that, this is life and death. Please whatever you can do to help would be most appreciated. If everyone gave a little than no one would have to give a lot. We know that Heidi is going to make it but we need to help her get to the finish line. She has made the painful decision to remain in Denver for one more month on the advice of her team, in order to make this happen. She is fighting like Hell. Entering week 7..........Breaking News, we just got an email from Heidi and here it is in part. Our Heidi is doing very well in the program and would like to thank you all for your support and prayers.
"Just got done with rounds with the medical team and they said I am doing a awesome job and I will be going to T Residential, the 1st of next week. That means the only thing I do upstairs where I'm @ now is, shower and sleep I can go outside whenever without staff, go to the bathroom and not have anyone watch me and get to go to all the classes downstairs with the T Residential Peers and PHP Peers. I also get to go out more outings throughout the week and weekends. And they approved me to go to all the Women's Empowerment classes as well with all the older women in the program.
So I am really excited !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Insurance update for our Heidi.....with Heidi's great success so far, she is in danger of losing health insurance at the end of March, because of her time spent at the program. It is a catch 22 situation. She needs to be at work in order to maintain insurance but needs to be in the program at the same time. We are trying to procure insurance through the Cobra program but funds are short and praying for a miracle. She has applied for short term disability but no final word at that result. We really don't want Heidi to leave the program until it is completed but she might consider that because of her losing of her insurance. Please pray and send her some love. Week six (Half Way Point) update on our Heidi.....everyday continues to be a struggle but she is marching through like a trooper. Heidi is very homesick and is hanging on as best she can. UPDATE: Sat, Feb 11, 2017 - Heidi finished week two at the Denver Acute Hospital.....they have stabilized her medically. They did amazing work with her and the care provided was simply amazing!!!! This program is very intense....the team is working with her 24/7. We do believe in Angels.....They will be moving her to the Eating Recovery Center as the next phase in her treatment on Monday. They have a stellar team of doctors and staff working with her there . Her new address will be:

Feb 2, 2017 - Heidi has been admitted on Jan 31st and is going through intensive therapy. This is likened to withdrawal. It will be a very difficult time for her. Jan 9, 2017...... UPDATE: Heidi is continuing her road to recovery and just received some wonderful news. She has been trying very hard to get accepted into the Best Eating Disorder Facility in the country. The ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders at Denver Health in Denver Colorado.

Heidi just received confirmation of her acceptance and is just waiting for a bed to open up next week. She is excited and worried both at the same time. This program is very expensive but has an excellent chance of saving her life. It has once again become critical. She does have insurance to cover most of the cost but it has a deductible of $6800.00. It requires a $3400.00 down payment which she does not have. The balance of the other $3400.00 would be put on a payment plan. We are all praying that she can come up with the amount needed for her to attend this program. Without this down payment she would be disqualified from attending. This would be devastating and detrimental to her survival. We hope and pray that we can raise enough for her to go into the program. Please, if you can help defray some of the costs, it would be most appreciated. The $2400 that shows previously raised has been already depleted in her continuing care. Thank You all for your prayers, encouragement and past, present, and future support.
I have never done this before but feel compelled to help my beautiful niece Heidi, from Indiana, get through her struggles. Heidi has had a very challenging life and needs our help, support and prayers. Heidi has been struggling with past issues with an eating disorder that has taken over her life, literally.
Heidi has finally come to the realization that it is time for professional help and she is reaching out for that help. I am so proud of her for taking action to remedy her situation, that is half the battle. She has been overworking herself just to stay afloat working 10-12 Hours a day, 7 days a week taking care of older folks in a nursing home selflessly and then just going home to sleep long enough to just get up and do it all over again. A vicious circle.
On top of all that, she has to deal with her medical condition. It has become overwheming to the breaking point, which in turn is exasperating her medical issues. Heidi has lost so much weight that it has become critical, 80 lbs and 5'8". If another week had gone by, we might not have had to chance to help her and the regrets would be too hard to bare. The picture that is posted on the cover was in better times and what she would like to return to when she gets better.
Heidi has finally taken a very brave and positive approach. She has resigned from her employment, moved out of her condo, admitted herself into the emergency room in the hospital intensive care unit for eating disorders and and hasn't looked back once, knowing its the right thing to do. She is now on her way to a happy and healthy life. She is very serious and is concentrating 100% on getting well and to be reunited with her family once again.
Heidi feels alone and it does not have to be that way. We can change that feeling, change the outcome of this beautiful young lady. We have the opportunity to change a life, "no strike that", SAVE a life.
This has now brought on new challanges as far as the financial weight that has been put upon her and her family. The costs are astronomical and a heavy burden. She is now unemployed, single, no insurance and reaching out for help in order to beat this eating disorder demon. We are asking anyone and everyone that would be able to help in any way possible to get her through this situation. By removing some of the financial weight, we hope and pray her physcial weight will return.
The funds would be used for professional inpatient as well as outpatient treatment. She cannot continue to fight this battle alone. It is time for the village to jump into action. We pray every day that she will get better, she is complying with all the doctors orders and programs and we are very encouraged by her progress thus far, but we need to get her to the finish line of this insurmountable race for a better life.
This is not going to be easy for her and will not take one day, one week, or even one month to remedy, but this will take months to get under control. Please Help Heidi in her struggle to get better, we love her so much and would mean the world to us and her.
