Heidi-nose she'll beat cancer!

Hello friends! My good friend Heidi Payne has been diagnosed with a very rare cancer called Mucosal Melanoma. She found out sort of by accident when she began having nose bleeds. She inadvertently went to the doctor for other reasons when she mentioned that her nose had been bleeding for no reason. After several months of waiting for an ENT appointment and her nose bleeds getting worse and worse, she decided to go back to her general practitioner and demand some answers. She finally got with a doctor that understood her urgency and made it his mission to help her that day. She was seen by an ENT, had a CT scan and decided that the mass that had formed inside her nose had to come out. A few days later, she had surgery to remove a "polyp" that had formed inside her nose. A week after that when the pathology came back, she was given the horrifying news that it was cancer.

Heidi and her family have endured several trips to Houston, TX, where Heidi has been getting treatment at MD Anderson. Rusty, her husband and their two kids, Cooper (11) and Lola (7,) are about to start a summer long journey that they never thought they would have to do. Heidi will receive radiation therapy to her nose (her face!) every day for 6 weeks in Houston which means she will be moving there this summer. Rusty and the kids will be with her for some of the time but Rusty will have to come back to SC to continue working while the kids will spend a large amount of time in Oklahoma where Heidi's sister lives.
