I am not alone when I say that I have been inpsired by Heidi's ability to handle this disease with a positive attitude and watch her poke some fun in the meantime. Heidi has a long road ahead of her, and she can not do this without insurance coverage. We can help eliminate some of her financial stress by contributing to her Cancer Fund! About Heidi:
My cousin Heidi Hall Cave was diagnosed with Stage III C Peritoneal Cancer [a form of Ovarian Cancer] on January 18, 2013. Since then, she has had extensive surgeries, several complacations, completed Round 1 of 18 weeks of chemotherapy, and is now in Round 2 of chemo [although currently on "Chemo Holiday"] She does carry the BRCA I mutation and will be in need of a double mastectomy in the near future to reduce her risk of breast cancer from 87% to 10%. Heidi is a single mother of two college children and a devoted educator of 25 years. She is currently on disability, yet 40% of her fixed income will go towards funding her monthly cobra insurance. Not to mention an additional $800+ a month to cover co-pays and Medical expenses. Recent studies have found stress can cause cancer to spread to other parts of the body (metastasis).
