Hearts for Hunger

Its that time of the year again! Christmas is right around the corner and you know what that means... Its time for our annual Hearts for Hunger fundraiser! Christmas is the spirit of giving, without a thought of getting. So why not give to those who need it most? Our goal is to help as many people in need on Skidrow, by providing them with a meal sac and more for the holidays! Because COVID happened so unexpectedly last year, we were unable to host our event. As a result of the increase in COVID vaccination rates and testing it is now safe enough to go to Skidrow and finally give back to the community as we love to do❤️Therefore we will be using the money raised from last years fund and adding it onto any donations we can get from now through December 18. The number of lives we have touched in the last 5 years has grown tremendously and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you guys! The first year we started back in 2016, we were able to raise $450 in just ONE week and feed 520+ people. Last year, in 2019, we were able to raise $2200 and feed 2000+ people. That is absolutely crazy! And I couldn’t thank you guys enough for the continuous help and support. We’re just one big family. You guys make my dreams come true. If you guys could make any donation, small or big it would be greatly appreciated and mean a lot to me. I wouldn’t be able to continue doing what I do without you guys. Let’s make a difference in this world together and fight hunger ❤️ We also accept Venmo and cash app! A little about my story: growing up I had it kind of rough. I was in and out of shelters or on the streets with my mom. I always remembered as a kid, there were people there for me when I needed someone. For Thanksgiving and Christmas there were always volunteers on Skidrow who would bring us toys, food, clothes and so much more. I am so thankful for that, I wish I could repay them some how but I can’t, all I can say is thank you so much for being there for us when we needed you most! I am so blessed to be where I am at in life now. I feel that I have the platform and have networked with so many people so why not use my platform for the better. People were there for me when I needed it most so now I want to be there for those who are in a similar position I was years ago. I also lost my dad in 2017, my dad was probably the most giving and loving person you would ever meet. He had the biggest heart for others. He could not have a dime in this world, and he would rather give up what he had for someone else despite his circumstances. Man, did he have a heart of gold! This is another reason why I continue doing what I do. I know this is something he would’ve wanted me to continue. Me giving back to my community makes me feel like I’m doing my part for him because I know it’s something he would’ve wanted.
