Healing Jenny

On December 31st, 2006 there was a blizzard in Minnesota. Jenny Mayer Dettling was leaving her home to meet up with friends for new years eve, not far from her home a truck was not able to stop at an intersection and crashed into the passenger side of Jenny's car. Jenny suffered a traumatic brain injury and spent one month in the ICU of Hennepin County Medical Center. She then, spent another month in a rehab hospital to ween her off of her ventilator and another four months in the Northfield Long Term Care Center while her family fixed their house to better suite Jenny's needs. Her family has been very dedicated to give her the best care possible. Jenny has come farther than doctors ever expected her to heal, and even tested 100% in an eye tracking test conducted by the Mayo Clinic. She was able to pick out pictures of animals when asked, but sadly Jenny still can not walk or talk. The mission of this website is to raise money for a revolutionary treatment that has the potential to progress the healing of Jenny's brain. The International Brain Research Foundation has an approach that has a 76-84% improvement rate with people similar to Jenny's condition. IBRF will scan Jenny's brain and find the damaged areas that need to be fixed. They will then stimulate the healing of damaged brain cells through a series of different therapies. These include: pharmaceuticals & nutraceuticals, median nerve stimulation, transcranial direct-current stimulation, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. The treatment needs to be paid out of pocket, we need to raise $40,000 to get Jenny into this program. Anything raised over our minimum goal will fund other medical expenses and treatments for Jenny. Jenny is very loved by her friends and family, we want Jenny to progress as far as possible and this treatment is very promising. Those who know Jenny know that she is a very tough, and spirited girl. This treatment will give Jenny's brain an extra "push." We have faith that Jenny can come far with a little help. We would love to see Jenny progress to the point where she can communicate again, and hear her infectious laugh. If you have money to spare, please donate.
