My name is Hattie Ahn and for the past two years I have been a student at Oberlin Conservatory working towards my Bachelor Degree in violin performance. I have been playing the violin since I was nine years old and from that first time, I knew I had passion for it and would dedicate my life to it. I have been making very promising progress in my studies at Oberlin with Professor Milan Vitek. In January 2012, I participated in the Golden Strings of America International Competition and was awarded first prize. As a winner, I had the chance to perform at the famous Carnegie Hall.
"Ms. Ahn is an exceptionally talented and promising young violinist. Her work ethic is excellent, she is very musical, learns quickly and shows rapid progress when learning new repertoire." -Milan Vitek
During the two years I have spent at Oberlin, my parents have been struggling to pay for my tuition. Unfortunately, it has reached the situation where I will have to withdraw from my studies unless I can come up with $19,000, the amount needed for me to attend Oberlin for another year. I have been very lucky to get this far with the help of my loving parents, teachers and friends.
Your donations will help me to continue studying at Oberlin this coming fall and allow my parents to get back on their feet without having to sacrifice my education. Please consider making a donation and sharing my story with your friends and family! Thank you!
